Ronald Katz, D.M.D.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Services
Ronald Katz, D.M.D., owner of Boca Jaw Surgery, never planned to attend dental school. However, an accident during college piqued his interest in his oral surgeon’s work, laying the foundation for his future career.
Dr. Katz, a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for 20 years, offers comprehensive services for adults and children. His expertise includes orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery, wisdom teeth and routine dental extractions, intravenous sedation, dental implants and bone grafting, maxillofacial trauma, TMJ disorders and oral pathology. He also performs facial cosmetic procedures such as mole removal with radiofrequency, neurotoxins, dermal fillers, facial implants, liposuction and genioplasty.
Dr. Katz’s participation in mission trips to Honduras with New FACES underscores his dedication to global humanitarian efforts, providing critical care to underserved patients. “As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, I had been searching for an avenue to give back beyond local ER and charity clinics.”
Dr. Katz serves as an Attending Surgeon and Adjunct Faculty Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s Department of Maxillofacial Surgery. State-of-the-art technology helps him achieve optimal results. “I love changing someone’s life when they don’t know how they’ll live, or they can’t breathe or function.” He has helped people with severe sleep apnea turn their lives around and corrected misaligned faces, enhancing their ability to chew, function properly and boost self-esteem.
Daily, Dr. Katz integrates Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) into procedures like wisdom teeth removal and bone graft reconstruction.
PRF promotes faster healing and tissue regeneration using the patient’s own growth factors and stem cells. Additionally, he uses radiofrequency surgery (RF), minimizing tissue damage, reducing bleeding and accelerating recovery. Over his career, Dr. Katz has transitioned from freehand implant surgeries to precision surgical guides, enhancing accuracy in implants, orthognathic jaw corrections, jaw cyst and tumor treatments and cosmetic genioplasty. Orthognathic surgery is his passion and favorite part of his specialty.
A Florida native, Dr. Katz earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and attended Tufts University Dental School in Boston. He also studied abroad at the University of Heidelberg in Germany and completed his surgical training at Nova Southeastern University, Broward Health, Hollywood Memorial and Baptist Hospital in Miami.
