Lisa Jett, concierge cosmetic care registered nurse, has one goal in mind when she’s assisting patients’ post-surgery — ensure that the patients’ and surgeons’ vision becomes reality. To do that requires skill and experience making the patient feel as comfortable and reassured as possible and that their healing process is in good hands.
For the body to look and feel good post-cosmetic surgery, takes time and patience, as well as a professional who understands the recovery process and what contributes to optimal healthy healing. That includes being there to answer questions that come up post-surgery — and there are a lot of questions. But that’s okay, it’s part of the process and a stress-free patient will heal faster,” Jett says.
At Boca Post Operative Care, Jett specializes in caring for patients after all types of cosmetic surgery. With 18 years of experience in the operating room, ICU and emergency room, she has the knowledge and understanding of how the human body recovers after a change.
Jett oversees medication, vital signs, blood pressure, drains and bandage removals while constantly checking for signs and symptoms of infection, inflammation, abnormal bleeding or psychological changes that could indicate an issue arising. She also drives the patient to and from surgery appointments, helps them shower, provides nutritional support and reassures them during moments of anxiety and stress. Jett provides the surgical team with daily updates and pictures via email, avoiding the chance of a small issue becoming more complicated.
“I love what I do. I have a passion for caring for people and I get to build fun, interesting relationships along the way. When someone starts to feel discouraged by the lack of immediate results, I can assure them that the journey to becoming their best selves is right around the corner. We are very good at what we do and our business reviews tell the story,” she explains.
Originally from Ohio, Jett moved to Florida in 2008, where she worked for several top cosmetic surgeons. Now Boca Post Operative Care sees patients throughout Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties. All of the nurses are registered with operating room experience.
“The opportunity kept popping up to assist patients post-surgery, and I found myself falling in love with being the support for them,” Jett says. “And because of the experiences I’ve had with surgeons, I know what they expect. When a patient and a surgeon are happy, I know I’ve done my job.”
