Brothers Paolo, Jose and Enzo Barni are the second generation to run Custom Artisan Cabinetry. Their father, Ramon Barni, started the company in 1985.
“I’ve been helping at the store since I was 12 years old,” said Jose Barni, lead designer. “That turned into a few hours after school in middle and high school and then transitioned to full-time during college.”
Attention to detail and customer service is what makes CAC stand out. The company specializes in high-end custom cabinetry of all kinds, from home entertainment centers, wall units and bars to home offices, kitchens and bathrooms. Everything is designed, built and installed in-house to meet clients’ precise needs.
“We work with over 500 different types of wood and finishes, in addition to a lot of acrylic work, which provides high-gloss surfaces and textures,” Jose said. “We work with all sorts of styles—traditional, modern, contemporary, transitional and more.”
Jose personally consults with clients about their needs and their style preferences, including lighting options and high-end finishes. CAC offers complimentary in-home consultations and has a standout showroom displaying the latest styles and designs.
“What we do best is cabinetry that has a lot of architectural interest. We like to work with geometry,” said Jose.
It’s a true family affair: Jose is the lead designer and selects materials, Enzo runs operations and oversees the company’s dedicated craftsmen, and Paolo runs special projects.
“We don’t outsource any part of a project. We have full creative control,” said Jose.
With many clients in the Boca Raton area, Jose enjoys the creativity of designing one-of-a-kind cabinets that are unique to each home.
“A lot of referrals are from neighbors and I want each house on the block to stand out,” Jose said.
Celebrating 22 years working in design with the company, Jose is energized about innovations in materials and new trends in the cabinet industry.
“I wake up every morning and build new and unique things,” he said. “Every day, people bring us their dreams, we put them down on paper and we get to see them come to life.”
