Helps Each Generation Plan For The Future
“As one develops, grows the gray hairs and becomes older, what I’ve seen is that clients are looking for advice,” says Gail E. Cohen, chair of the board of directors and general trust counsel at Fiduciary Trust Company International, a renowned wealth-management and investment firm with an office in Boca Raton.
Since 1931, Fiduciary Trust Company International has tailored sophisticated investment-management and trust services to suit the particular needs of each client. Its professionals work as part of a team with a client’s attorney, accountant and other advisors to fully understand and serve a client’s needs and desired legacy.
“It allows us to understand the client’s goals, the client’s wishes and, most importantly, the family dynamics at hand,” Cohen says. “In order to become a true partner to multiple generations of a client’s family, we need to meet the family members and become part of a team that the family knows and trusts.”
It’s a task that’s regularly completed with great success, including a recent win in the WealthManagement.com Industry Awards and being named a finalist in the Family Wealth Report Awards, both for outstanding accomplishments in trust services in 2018.
Cohen has more than 30 years of experience in trusts and estates, and she serves as chair of Fiduciary Trust Company International of the South. Upon entering the field, she was drawn to helping people and their families make decisions that would allow them to plan for the future and ease their worries.
In the same vein, philanthropy is a key aspect of the Fiduciary Trust corporate culture. Cohen is a member of the board of trustees of the Boca Raton Museum of Art and serves on the professional advisory boards of the Anti-Defamation League Florida and JAFCO. Meanwhile, other Fiduciary Trust team members are involved with the Boca Raton chapters of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
“This is the kind of work where you can help multiple generations of the same family solve important wealth-management issues and give them peace of mind,” Cohen says. “It helps you sleep at night as well, knowing you’ve done some good for people in your community.”
Fiduciary Trust Company International’s Boca Raton office is located at 2255 Glades Road. For more information, call 561-988-8460 or visit ftci.com.
