Jenkins Lorenzo, a Boca Raton-based law firm, celebrated its 5th anniversary this year — but its founding partners, Chase Jenkins, and JD Lorenzo, have been friends for over 15 years. The law partners met on their first day of law school in 2007 but went their separate ways after they graduated. Jenkins choose to navigate the world of real estate and consumer finance law, while Lorenzo became a complex commercial litigator.
During a ski trip with their spouses in 2016, the team decided it was time to go out on their own. They describe the firm as a “concierge business law practice,” with their clientele composed mainly of developers, interior designers, auto franchises and celebrities.
“Clients are not stuck dealing with an associate or anyone other than the partners,” Lorenzo says when asked about the ‘concierge’ aspect. “When we started the firm, we made a commitment to work on every case together and be there when our clients need us. Clients deal with both of us. We’re a package deal.”
For Jenkins, this philosophy is what has led to the firm’s success and consistent client referrals. In fact, all the firm’s business comes from referrals — something both partners are incredibly proud of.
“We enjoy a close and straightforward relationship with our clients; being integrated within their corporate structure helps avoid pitfalls. This ultimately saves money, reduces litigation and creates a better corporate culture,” says Jenkins.
Last year, the firm moved from its original location in Aventura to Boca Raton.
“The move was a natural shift for us. We’re a young firm and Boca is emerging as a center for both business and family life; this is incredibly appealing to us,” say the partners.
Lorenzo and his husband recently made the move from Miami to Boca Raton after the birth of their daughter, whose godparents are Jenkins and his wife.
In terms of what comes next, the firm looks forward to engaging in new philanthropic efforts in the community.
