If you’ve seen one LBU Lighting showroom, you’ve not seen them all. That’s because each showroom manager can order lighting fixtures that best reflect the demographics and culture of each of the nine LBU locations. They know that products which sell well in Miami may not enjoy the same success in Naples. But the energy and enthusiasm of the staff is constant throughout the group. The goal remains to meet the needs and expectations of the customers by showcasing the latest and most innovative lighting products from the world’s leading lighting manufacturers.
Light Bulbs Unlimited opened its first store in Fort Lauderdale in 1986. It soon became a valuable source for hard-to-find light bulbs. This success led to the opening of stores across South and Central Florida. The company rebranded from Light Bulbs Unlimited to LBU Lighting in 2017 to better reflect the nature of the business. They’re now in their 38th year in Florida. Although much has changed in the world of retail, they remain committed to their brick-and-mortar stores.
“Customers can come in and get a feel for the actual merchandise,” says Jake Gersowsky, co-owner. “This way a lot of disappointment from internet purchases can be avoided.”
All nine showrooms offer an eclectic collection of contemporary lighting, fans, lighting controls and outdoor fixtures from leading manufacturers. They still carry the latest LED and energy efficient light bulbs, along with many unusual accessories, mirrors and furniture. New “smart rooms” have been created to demonstrate the latest in lighting controls.
“We update our showrooms every few years to ensure we remain modern, current and relevant,” says Stan Civin. “We want to ensure that we’re responsive to the market and to our customers.”
The owners credit their well-trained, energetic staff for their success, many of whom have been with LBU for over 25 years.
Ongoing training and regular attendance at the biannual lighting show in Dallas has led to a cohesive and motivated leadership team. Strong relationships have been developed with our customers who remain at the forefront of everything they do.
“We’re grateful for the loyalty and ongoing support of our customers. We try every day to improve to better serve the people of Florida.”
