LBU Lighting sells innovative lighting products from the world’s leading manufacturers and is happy to live and play in beautiful Boca Raton. The company, now in its 39th year in Florida, has nine showrooms in Florida and literally brings light into homes across the state. Now, in a metaphorical way, they want to bring light to the community in a new way.
Giving back is not new to LBU Lighting; it’s a cornerstone of its business model. The company’s latest venture is to partner with Legrand in support of Her 2nd Chance, a Boca Raton nonprofit that provides transitional employment for women in recovery from substance use.
Keely Copeland, founder of Her 2nd Chance, knows that scores of women are hungry for change but struggle to find employment because of their pasts. “I can relate to their determination because their story is my story. I couldn’t find a job because of my background. I was only able to truly move forward when I was given a second chance and a path to self-sufficiency. Today I’ve been blessed with the chance to pay it forward, helping women emerging from adversity thrive in our local community.”
Now LBU and Legrand are calling upon local artists and designers to create decorated wall plates. For every decorated wall plate, a donation will be made to Her 2nd Chance by LBU Lighting and Legrand. The plates will then be displayed on a wall board, titled “The Gallery of Compassion and Hope” in the Boca Raton LBU showroom.
This is not the first “Gallery of Compassion and Hope” that LBU Lighting and Legrand have partnered on. Last year, they joined forces in Fort Lauderdale with Henderson Behavioral Health in its mission to support mental health and addiction. The “Gallery of Compassion and Hope” is proudly on display in the Fort Lauderdale LBU Lighting showroom.
The outpouring of support from the design community was inspiring. The hope is that the first project’s success will serve as a catalyst not only for the other LBU showrooms but for other lighting showrooms around the country to support worthy causes in their local communities.
We invite local designers and artists who’d like to partner in this gallery-for-a-cause to reach out to hr@lbugroup.com.
