Light Bulbs Unlimited opened the first store in Fort Lauderdale in 1986 and soon became a popular source for all your hard to find light bulbs. This success led to additional light bulb stores opening across South Florida and today LBU has grown into a thriving company, with nine established locations in South Florida, Orlando, Naples and the Treasure Coast.
Rebranded as LBU Lighting, to better reflect the nature of the business, today our showrooms offer an eclectic collection of modern and contemporary lighting, fans, lighting controls and outdoor fixtures. Popular brands include WAC Lighting, Modern Forms, Kuzco, ET2, Lutron and SATCO®|NUVO® and many more.
Boca Raton showroom managers, Lenny Snipelisky and Martin Hack, agree that the company’s success can be largely attributed to the staff’s knowledge and passion for the business-and to always putting the customer first, building long term relationships and friendships. In-store consultations, virtual consultations and in-home consultations are all part of the customer experience.
“We have worked hard to maintain our culture of customer service and knowledge,” explains Hack, who’s been with LBU since 2005. “today, most of our business is generated in our showrooms, but we have not forgotten our humble beginning: we still carry all kinds of light bulbs, available at our counters.”
To ensure that our staff (20 in Boca, over 100 in the group) are up to date with all the latest technology, regular Product Training sessions are held in the store.
“We as a company, are able to change direction at any time, depending on what the market needs,” adds Snipelisky, who joined the company in 1996. “We strive to learn and to embrace all the new products and features, to bring the very latest LED technology to our clients and friends.”
Every six months, Snipelisky and Hack, together with representatives from all the LBU locations, attend the trade show in Dallas, to learn about new product introductions.
“We upgrade our showrooms at least once a year to keep up with the modern contemporary lighting,” Hack points out.
If years in the business has taught the managers anything, it’s that cultivating customer relationships-and retention-is the key to success.
