Meg Weinberger
Animal Rights Advocate
To say Meg Weinberger loves animals is an understatement. The Palm Beach Gardens resident currently has 14 dogs at home. “I call it controlled chaos,” says Weinberger.
Animals are part of her life’s work. Her farm is home to Rescue Life (rescue-life.org), an animal sanctuary that provides second chances for abused animals by fostering them, rehabilitating them and finding them homes. They have horses, donkeys, dogs, cats, zebras, alpacas, pigs, cows, goats and geese. Rescue Life also partners with organizations such as KidSanctuary, Place of Hope, Els Center for Excellence’s Adult Day Program and The Friendship Circle to include animals as sources of comfort for vulnerable members of the community.
Rescue Life’s goal is to provide hope and companionship to adults dealing with mental health challenges as well as underserved children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
“I’ve seen with my own eyes the healing power of animals,” says Weinberger, who also loves educating children about animals. “If we can teach our kids at a young age how to care for animals, it will give them confidence and help with their mental health and teach life lessons. Animals give unconditional love without judgment.”
In addition to animals, Weinberger stands up for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities and foster children. Growing up alongside her adopted sister Louise, who had Down Syndrome, Weinberger developed a unique understanding of the impact of love and compassion. Weinberger has served as a volunteer at Place of Hope for over a decade, where she has mentored three young ladies — Synthia, Julia and Beatrice — who she considers part of her family. Weinberger was selected to participate in the Runway of Hope fundraiser to benefit Place of Hope on November 8. (https://fundraise.givesmart.com/vf/runwayofhope/MegWeinberger).

Still, Weinberger wants to provide even more help to the community. That’s one reason she’s running for office as a Republican for State Representative in District 94. The primary elections will be held in August 2024.
“I’ve always helped the community on smaller platforms and am always giving 110%,” Weinberger says. “If I had the honor of serving in Tallahassee, I’d have a bigger platform to touch more lives. Helping others is one of the most fulfilling aspects of my life.”
And many in her district are already pitching in with donations, signature gathering and event organizing.
“It’s rare to meet that politician who exudes true integrity, authenticity and compassion,” says former Time magazine journalist, Carolina Buia. “Meg is all in and all in for the right reasons.”
Weinberger is also fighting for farming and agriculture. Weinberger says that while most people are aware that oranges and strawberries are harvested in the state, they don’t know that Florida produces so much more. She wants to expose students to Florida-grown produce like sugar, peppers and lettuce.
“Farmers feed America and are critical to our national security,” says Weinberger. “We must fight to maintain sustainable farmlands in our great State of Florida and to prevent our agricultural supply from being produced more cheaply in countries.”
Weinberger also plans to give a bigger voice to law enforcement, first responders, the economy and education. In fact, Weinberger just became Moms for Liberty’s new Palm Beach Chair. Weinberger is also a huge supporter of the second amendment as she loves to participate in clay shoots throughout Palm Beach County.
Weinberger lives with her husband, Eric and two daughters. Daughter Zoie is a junior at Stetson University and a member of the women’s varsity soccer team. The youngest, Riley, is a junior at The Benjamin School and vice president of the Environmental Club.
When not working on her campaign or her farm, Weinberger loves to ride horses and exercise daily. Weinberger also swears by the mental health benefits of her three-minute ice plunges which she does twice a day to decompress.
“They keep me alert and focused,” says Weinberger. “Cold plunges and daily farm chores are hard. But when you’re finished, there’s a great sense of accomplishment. Tallahassee, we’re just getting started.”
