Diane and Vinny Baratta
Mobility Equipment Repairs, Rentals and Sales
Originally from Long Island, Vinny Baratta grew up working in his grandfather’s apothecary and was inspired by his father and four uncles — all doctors. He opened his first Home Medical Equipment business in 1983.
One Saturday afternoon six years ago, Diane called Vinny’s Mobility City in Fort Lauderdale looking for a solution. Vinny dispatched a technician to repair her first husband’s power chair, which failed in a Florida rainstorm.
Before he passed away, Diane experienced many years of mobility challenges through his disabilities. A few years later, Vinny and Diane met again, fell in love, and in 2018, Vinny and Diane married and founded Mobility City.
“People spend up to 18 hours a day in mobility equipment and properly functioning equipment means independence and a better quality of life. With 41 franchises in 31 states, we are helping hundreds of people every day who need our services. Our technicians make house calls to help people who can’t get out of their homes to get their equipment serviced,” says Diane Baratta, CEO of Mobility City Holdings.
“Providing equipment from walking aids to lift chairs is a feel-good business in an $8 billion industry. We help people get to church, the mall or around their home with a rollator or mobility scooter,” says Vinny, COO of Mobility City. “We invite customers to try out mobility equipment on our ‘test track’ as they have to get comfortable using it.”
From their showroom in Boca Raton, Vinny and Diane provide customers with the highest quality of mobility equipment repairs, rentals and sales. They are on the way to achieving their goal of growing Mobility City into a national network of over 200 franchises to help millions with disabilities and mobility challenges.
