Dr. Melyssa Hancock
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
Helping patients breathe beautifully. That’s the motto for double board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Melyssa Hancock, at the Nose and Sinus Institute of Boca Raton.
Not only is Dr. Hancock one of the few female facial plastic surgeons in South Florida, she is also one of the only surgeons nationwide who specializes in the Total Nose Approach™ procedure, a single surgery that addresses both functional and aesthetic concerns of the nose. This technique was pioneered by her partner and founder of the Nose and Sinus Institute, Dr. Nathan Nachlas, 30 years ago.
“If you go to a general plastic surgeon, they often have an ENT do the functional part and then they do the cosmetic part; we do it all in one surgery,” Dr. Hancock says. “Helping someone breathe better improves their quality of life in such a profound way. That, combined with the ability to improve someone’s self-image and self-confidence, is why I love what I do.”
Dr. Hancock specializes in the advanced treatment of the nose, sinuses and face, with an emphasis on primary and revision rhinoplasty and balloon sinuplasty, as well as other functional nasal procedures.
Dr. Hancock attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore followed by a 5-year surgical residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Hancock was selected out of a nationwide applicant pool for a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, during which time she gained experience in the most innovative nonsurgical and surgical techniques.
In addition to her practice in Boca Raton, she is also on staff at Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital and serves as President of the Florida Society of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
“I pride myself on providing compassionate, comprehensive, and honest care and delivering quality, natural-looking surgical results,” she says. “My goal is for patients to leave my office feeling better about their health and themselves.”
