Beverly Raphael-Altman Leads Construction Company To Nationwide Success
Beverly Raphael-Altman has a winning formula for success: “Surround yourself with good people, listen to them and let them do their jobs.”
That approach has helped her build RCC Associates into a nationwide construction powerhouse.
“We have grown through repeat clients and referrals thanks to our team’s ability to deliver impeccable results with personalized customer service,” says Raphael-Altman, who is president and CEO of the Deerfield Beach-based firm, whose projects range from Hawaii to Puerto Rico.
Back in 1998, Raphael-Altman was an entrepreneur in the apparel business raising two daughters when her husband, company founder Richard Raphael, lost his battle with cancer.
“It was challenging being a woman executive in a male-dominated profession,” she says. “Our team, including partner/EVP Rick Rhodes, kept moving forward as we built a strong position in the restaurant, luxury retail and entertainment sectors.”
In two decades, RCC Associates has grown from $17 million to more than $100 million in sales and close to 100 employees. The company’s clients include Zuma; True Food Kitchen; Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group; Punch Bowl Social; IPIC Theaters; Harry Winston; and The Cheesecake Factory, for whom RCC has completed more than 80 projects nationally.
Along the way, Raphael-Altman has been recognized for her business leadership by many organizations, including the Wharton School of Business; the South Florida Business Journal, which named her an Ultimate CEO; the SunSentinel, which gave her an Excalibur Award; and Ernst & Young, which named her Entrepreneur of the Year. She also received an honorary doctorate from Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business & Entrepreneurship, where she had previously been inducted into the Business Hall of Fame.
Now married to residential real estate developer Joel Altman, she is also known for her philanthropic and community work. Last year, Raphael-Altman and her daughter, Robyn Raphael-Dynan, vice president of operations at RCC Associates, chaired a successful Women Build fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.
“Boca Raton is an incredible community to raise a family and grow a business,” she says. “It is a pleasure to be able to give something back.”
RCC Associates is located at 255 Jim Moran Blvd., Deerfield Beach. For more information, call 954-429-3700 or visit rccassociates.com.
