From the early days of medical school and residency, Sol V. Guerrero, M.D., a board-certified endocrinologist with Palm Beach Health Network Physician Group in Boca Raton, was captivated by the field of endocrinology. She found it intellectually stimulating and structured, offering continuity of care and ongoing challenges that kept her engaged. Most importantly, Dr. Guerrero valued the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients, an aspect that perfectly aligned with her career aspirations.
Dr. Guerrero specializes in the treatment of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, thyroid disease, thyroid cancer, adrenal, pituitary, parathyroid disorders, osteoporosis and in-office thyroid biopsies. Recently, she expanded her practice by welcoming two nurse practitioners — one nurse practitioner dedicated to diabetes management and the other focused on endocrinology conditions —enhancing the level of personalized treatment available to her patients.
Beyond her medical expertise, Dr. Guerrero cultivates both professional and personal relationships with her patients. She strives to create an environment of belonging and empathy, treating each patient as if they were part of her own family. This approach has been rewarding for her, as she continues to find fulfillment in making a positive impact on patients’ lives. While she acknowledges that not every condition has a definitive cure, she remains committed to improving patients’ health and enhancing their overall well-being.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Guerrero grew up in South Florida and moved to the Boca Raton area in 2014. As a mother of three, she balances her professional and personal life with a deep commitment to patient care.
“Being a physician for me has always been about helping people,” she says. “It’s rewarding to try to make a difference in people’s health and often form long-lasting connections with patients.”
Dr. Guerrero completed her medical education and clinical rotation at St. Christopher’s College of Medicine, followed by an internship, residency and fellowship at Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Guerrero is currently on staff at West Boca Medical Center. Before joining PBHN Physician Group, she specialized in endocrinology at the Iowa Clinic and was on-staff at Iowa Methodist Hospital in West Des Moines, Iowa. She also has prior experience in Palm Beach County, having practiced at Boynton Beach Endocrinology and Delray Medical Center from 2011 to 2012.
