The physicians at ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida have been caring for patients since 1963. Since that time, the group has grown to nearly 90 otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat physicians) with 60 offices spanning the Sunshine State.
Michael S. Aronsohn, M.D.; Alexander M. Gorup, M.D.; Nathan E. Nachlas, M.D.; Mark H. Widick, M.D.; and Ari I. Wirtschafter, M.D., practice at the Boca Raton clinic.
“As one of the largest single specialty otolaryngology/head and neck surgery groups in the United States, we take our responsibility of defining standards in our specialty very seriously,” says Dr. Nachlas, President of ENTAAF. Drs. Aronsohn, Wirtschafter and Nachlas serve on the statewide ENTAAF Board, helping the organization maintain their clinical and research excellence and continuing, in their 60th year, to provide compassionate and exceptional care to the people of Florida.
Dr. Aronsohn is board certified in otolaryngology and just completed his term as president and chief of staff at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where he was influential in helping the hospital transition to new management following its merger with Baptist Health.
“Having grown up in Boca Raton and attended high school at Spanish River down the road from my office, I have a passion for caring for the community in which I was raised,” says Dr. Aronsohn.
In addition to providing local ear, nose and throat specialty care, he has traveled the world, providing medical treatment and surgery for those in underserved countries such as the Philippines and Haiti.
His colleague, Dr. Widick, is also board certified in otolaryngology, with fellowship training in advanced otological (ear) surgical procedures. His broad areas of expertise include correcting perforation of the eardrum, hearing loss, cochlear and implantable hearing aids and voice disorders.

“Working with a group of highly-respected colleagues benefits, not only us, but our patients,” he says. “We are able to consult with one another, providing our patients with the most comprehensive ENT care in the state.”
Dr. Wirtschafter, who is board certified in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine, is Secretary of the Medical Staff Executive Committee at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping manage the operating room during these unprecedented times. He also holds numerous leadership positions at the state and national levels, helping to develop medical policy.
“I feel deeply privileged to be able to care for multi-generational families, utilizing the latest advancements in the field. It is also a true pleasure to work every day alongside like-minded, compassionate and talented physicians,” he says.
Dr. Gorup is board certified in otolaryngology and fellowship trained in facial plastic surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He treats a broad area of ear, nose and throat disorders including those with allergy symptoms.
“While growing up in New York and training at Columbia, I came to realize that patients have high expectations when it comes to their medical care. Now that I practice here in Boca Raton, I am glad to work with such respected partners with whom I continue to deliver the highest level of care that our patients expect and deserve.”
Dr. Nachlas, who is double board certified in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery and whose specialty is advanced and minimally invasive surgery of the nose and sinuses adds, “We are proud of our reputation of excellence, and we invite patients to experience our academic-level medical and surgical care in the convenience of a private practice setting.”
“One of the amazing things about ENTAAF is the scope of its subspecialists,” he says. “Our physicians are all board certified and many are double board certified. They have trained at the top programs in the country. Our allergy and audiovestibular departments are among the country’s best, not only clinically, but also in the commitment to statewide and national education of our specialty.”
