Jose (Joe) L. Conde, M.D., is a physician and partner of Medical Associates of Delray, P.A. He is double certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both internal and geriatric medicine.
Dr. Conde is a well-established and respected physician in Delray Beach. Patients range from 18 to 104. “I get to know my patients on a personal level. To me, it’s important to understand the entirety of the person to ensure individualized quality care,” says Dr. Conde. “I view patients as an extension of my family. I treat everyone as I’d like to be treated.”
Not only is he passionate about the practice of medicine, Dr. Conde enjoys teaching clinical medicine. Since 2010, Dr. Conde has served as a Community Based Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor of Integrated Medical Science Internal Medicine & Geriatric Division of Florida Atlantic University Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine in Boca Raton. Medical students rotate with Dr. Conde, where he teaches them how to apply their classroom knowledge in the clinical setting. They also get to observe and learn from his personable bedside manner.
In addition, he works for hospice on the weekends, treating patients in facilities or their homes. He was recognized with a VITAS Best Award in 2021 for his outstanding service in hospice and palliative care. “I want to give patients the dignity they deserve on their way out of this world.”
Dr. Conde loves helping patients find relief. He feels like he was given a gift to help others. “Being a physician is not only treating them but listening to their problems,” he says. “Sometimes, that’s all they need to give them that hope.”
Dr. Conde is a Delray Beach local. He moved to the area from Miami and attended Atlantic Community High School. Here, he excelled as a scholar athlete, achieving all-state football recognition while graduating at the top of his class.
After completing his geriatric fellowship at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Conde joined his current practice in Delray in 2006. “Practicing in my hometown is a blessing,” he says. “I feel privileged to do what I do. People entrust me with their care. I take the responsibility seriously.”
