In addition to general cardiovascular care, the cardiovascular subspecialties provided include preventive cardiology, invasive/interventional cardiology, cardio-oncology, pulmonary hypertension and advanced heart failure. The physicians at SFHI are surrounded by a dedicated support team, including several staff members working at SFHI for over 15 years, with the physicians providing compassionate, timely care in a warm and friendly environment. The physician at SFHI works closely with their colleagues and hospitals to provide integrated health care to their patients, ensuring continuity of care and collaboration with other specialties.
The physicians of SFHI also serve as the core faculty for the cardiovascular fellowship training program at Delray Medical Center and Florida Atlantic University. They actively participate in clinical research and the teaching of fellows and residents. The faculty and fellows under the direction of Jonathan Kahan, M.D., wrote a book, “Escaping History,” now in its 3rd edition, detailing cardiovascular risks and preventive treatment options related to cardiovascular disease. The physician’s participation in the educational program is a testament to ongoing efforts to maintain innovative clinical care and knowledge applicable to the care of cardiac patients.
Practice members include Dr. Lieberman, who is the Chief Medical Officer of the Palm Beach Health Network and a practicing non-invasive cardiologist. He treats patients with a broad range of cardiovascular diseases with particular interest in preventive cardiology and cardio-oncology. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Mark Fisher, M.D., is an interventional cardiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease. He is the medical director of the practice’s nuclear cardiology laboratory. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
Dr. Kahan serves as Director of the FAU/Delray Cardiology Fellowship Program. He performs echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and CT coronary angiography, in addition to his patient care. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac CTA and Echocardiography.
Benjamin Ravaee, M.D., is the Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Delray Medical Center. He is a non-invasive cardiologist who treats conditions including heart attacks, heart disease and valvular heart disease. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Echocardiography.
Jonathan J. Vafai, M.D., Chief of Cardiology at Delray Medical Center. He is board-certified in Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology, Echocardiography and Internal Medicine. His interests also include echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and stress testing.
Philip Habib, M.D., is an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist. In addition to providing general cardiovascular consultation, Dr. Habib cares for patients with congestive heart failure due to several causes, including patients with dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloid heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. He is board-certified in Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure.
Arthur P. Weiner, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He specializes in cardiac consultation, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology.
