All That Jazz

Radcliffe’s Is A Hidden Gem In Delray

by

The Wine Room Kitchen & Bar in Delray Beach has transformed the 100-year-old Arcade Tap Room into Radcliffe’s Speakeasy & Supper Club. It truly is a hidden treasure in more ways than one — as the new speakeasy can be found via a secret alley entrance to The Wine Room.

Lobster Étouffée

Executive Chef Blake Malatesta has curated a timeless menu with offerings that include a selection of small plates such as Duck Pizzette made with goat cheese béchamel, arugula, caramelized onion, morello cherry and balsamic and Escargot made with duxelles butter, black truffle steak sauce and parmesan brioche croutons.

There’s also a selection of fish, fowl and meats. Try the Lobster Étouffée, an

eight-ounce Australian lobster tail with garlic-scented wild rice, Gulf shrimp and lobster chili butter. For the meat lover, the whopping 48-ounce Ft. McCoy Tomahawk is a must.

Guests can enjoy live jazz and R&B performances every night as they dine. The wine selection is recognized by Wine Spectator and the cocktail menu features an eclectic selection of drinks such the Raven, created with Wheatley Vodka and infused with black charcoal, or the Bird Bath, featuring Conniption Gin, lavender chamomile, St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur and sauvignon blanc served in a bathtub-shaped glass with a rubber duck floating on top.

The speakeasy, which has been around since the 1920s, once was a popular location for politicians and Hollywood elite including Franklin D. Roosevelt, Gary Cooper and Gloria Swanson.

Radcliffe’s Speakeasy & Supper Club is located at 411 E. Atlantic Ave. Suite D, Delray Beach. For more information, visit thewineroomonline.com/delray-beach-the-speakeasy.
