Dr. Lesley Hack provides the best care for her four-legged patients and never compromises care for cost. She runs Boca Veterinary Clinic, one of the few large, multi-doctor, privately-owned hospitals in the area.

“We have been successful because we care; patient care comes first in everything,” she says. “My style is very analytical, very philosophical and we listen to multiple perspectives from our doctors and our patients’ families.”

Boca Veterinary Clinic is a state-of-the-art 7,000-square foot clinic with nine exam rooms, two fully-equipped surgery suites, digital radiology, ultrasound and echocardiogram suite, on-call CT, physical rehabilitation, advanced lab testing, sophisticated dental suite and extensive pharmacy in addition to boarding, grooming and daycare.

There are 45 staff and eight doctors — plus three on-call board-certified surgeons. Almost every procedure is done in-house, from detailed bloodwork, X-rays and ultrasounds to simple or complex surgeries and dental procedures.

A lifelong animal lover from South Africa, Dr. Hack came to the United States 20 years ago. She opened Boca Veterinary Clinic to provide a sophisticated level of care to the pets of Boca Raton and beyond.

“I hire professionals who are passionate about what they do and go the extra mile. We don’t leave any stone unturned,” she says.

Dr. Hack is driven every day by the success stories. That could be from detecting rare conditions in pets to finding appropriate wellness plans for older animals, allowing them to live many more years than expected.

“We don’t rush anything and we allocate extra time to every procedure,” Dr. Hack says.

The doctors work with owners offering different ways to treat their pets, including multiple options to monitor health conditions. The philosophy is to treat the whole animal in a holistic way, blending natural care with the most advanced medical and surgical diagnostics and therapeutics. Dr. Hack takes pride in the team she has assembled, saying it takes upwards of six months to select each new veterinarian.

“People who come here are not just seeing one of us, but getting a team,” she says. “We put the best interest of the patients and families first with the goal to keep them happy and healthy.”
