Our Medical Team Delivers A Full Continuum Of Care For Substance Use Disorders
Led by an experienced medical team, Caron of Florida delivers a full continuum of care for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.
“We offer long-term treatment approaches that include residential care and outpatient clinical services – an approach known as the Florida Model,” says medical director Anthony Campo, M.D., who is dual board certified in psychiatry and addiction medicine. “Patient care is customized based on comprehensive medical assessments, and we offer life skills development and family therapy to support recovery and self-sufficiency.”
Caron of Florida consists of Caron Renaissance, the Boca Raton clinical campus, and Caron Ocean Drive, an adjoining residential facility that offers comfort, convenience and privacy to individuals going through long-term treatment. Caron offers specialized programs for addictions related to trauma, eating disorders, gambling and other issues.
Caron’s medical team includes Barbara Krantz, D.O., director of addiction medicine. Dual board certified in family practice and addiction medicine, Dr. Krantz has more than 30 years of experience in her field. Staff psychiatrist Lourdes Chahin, M.D., is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and has extensive experience in working with young adults and treating attention deficit disorders (ADD). Yianoula Alexakis, Psy.D., director of psychology, draws on her experience in neuropsychology to help diagnose and treat depression, anxiety, ADD and other co-occurring mental health disorders.
“Our medical team understands the importance of treating both substance use and the underlying mental health disorder at the same time,” says Dr. Campo. “That’s the most effective strategy for long-term sobriety.”
To support patient recovery, Caron of Florida also has a full-time nurse practitioner and two neurofeedback technicians who assist in diagnosis and treatment.
