Dr. Marc B. Klein, Gets Patients Back On Their Feet And Feeling Fine

Your feet are the foundation of your body, and when they don’t function properly, it can cause a number of other health issues. Foot, knee, leg, hip and even back pain can occur from not having the proper support.

That’s why, for the past 40 years, Dr. Marc Klein has focused his practice on ensuring that patients get the best foot care possible. Often, that care starts with having the right orthotics.

“Most people think an orthotic is an orthotic, but that’s not the case,” says Dr. Klein. “Our custom-made orthotics make full contact with the feet. That direct support allows them to change how your feet function during everyday activities.”

Dr. Klein’s patients range in age from infants to centenarians and include everyone from weekend warriors to professional athletes. He recalls the time a triathlete walked into his office with six different pairs of orthotics, none of which worked.

“He had just about given up on being a triathlete. We got him back to training by putting him in the right orthotic,” Dr. Klein says.

While oral medication, injections and physical therapy can make the pain go away for a period of time, if you continue to walk improperly, there’s a high likelihood that the pain will return once the medication wears off.

“Many podiatrists treat the symptoms but not the cause,” says Dr. Klein. “The average podiatrist gives 75 percent of their patients injections. I give less than five percent of my patients injections.”

“I always tell my patients, if you come in with foot pain, have no idea where it came from and you don’t recall a trauma, it’s usually because your feet aren’t functioning properly,” he says.

In addition to orthotics, Dr. Klein offers treatments for a wide range of foot-related problems, including ingrown toenails, bunion pain, hammertoes, fractures of the feet or ankles and tendon injuries.

He also offers the newest technology in nail fungus treatment. The PinPointe Laser is the first FDA-approved laser for toenail fungus that quickly and painlessly zaps the infection by killing the pathogens that cause the fungus to grow.
