As a board-certified, fellowship-trained anesthesiologist (in Interventional Pain Management) at Florida Spine Associates, he offers and specializes in the newest options in non-surgical procedures, whether for neck, back, spine or joint pain. Treatments like epidurals, radiofrequency ablation, joint injections, spinal cord stimulation, kyphoplasty and minimally invasive lumbar decompression are just a few of the procedures implemented.

“In terms of pain treatments, I try to maximize non-surgical modalities that include physical therapy, medications, injections/procedures, and sometimes durable medical equipment (like braces),” Dr. MacMahon explains. “I offer all the treatment options I can to improve pain and quality of life.”

Florida Spine Associates is a multidisciplinary practice (with locations in Boca Raton, West Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Wellington, Atlantis, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Fort Lauderdale), and that comprehensive care allows for the continuum and cohesiveness of communication and patient care, he points out. Specialties include orthopaedic spine surgery, interventional pain management and general orthopedics.

“In our group, what makes us unique is that all of our doctors are board certified, fellowship trained and trained across some of the most prestigious medical programs across the country,” Dr. MacMahon says.

Born and raised in Miami, he did his undergraduate work and attended medical school at the University of Miami, so his local and patient connections are strong. He is also a third-generation anesthesiologist, with both his grandfather and father practicing in the same medical discipline.

Dr. MacMahon lives in Boca Raton, and he and his wife, Shaina, have a two-year-old son and three-year-old daughter. An avid golfer, he is an active member of his community, of Woodfield Country Club and of Congregation B’nai Israel.
