“I am the guy you want to talk to about looking your best,” says Guy La Ferrera.

Anyone who has walked into his eponymous clothing store knows that’s true. La Ferrera has spent 40 years helping discerning men dress for the life they live with style and sophistication.

He credits his success to creating relationships as well as his ability to take contemporary fashion to a new level. It’s why many of the sons of the customers he has catered to now shop at Guy La Ferrera in Boca Raton.

“The generation I have served for the last 30-plus years, their sons and son’s friends are now finding us, and they realize that we are the go-to place to make them look great for their job interview or wedding,” he says. “I bring a level of caring and honesty to the equation.”

La Ferrera grew up in the clothing business. His father opened his first tailor shop in Rome before coming to the U.S. In 1982, father and son opened the store that exists today. The boutique focuses on lightweight, natural fabrics made in Italy and perfect for South Florida’s warm climate. Clients range from business executives and community leaders to celebrities and athletes.

“We have $2 million in inventory. A customer can come in, put on a garment and if needed we can tailor it to perfection,” says La Ferrera, who travels to Italy every year to source the latest materials and styles. He features both mainstream as well as artisanal brands including Canali, Ravazzolo, Samuelsohn and Jack Victor.

Customers also have come to rely on store manager Lee Propst, who has 26 years of experience in fine men’s clothing, and on-staff custom tailor Aldo Piccione, who spent 25 years working for Brioni in New York, to provide their expertise.

La Ferrera also is a big believer in giving back and over the years has supported numerous nonprofits including Rales Jewish Family Services, Florence Fuller Child Development Centers and Morgan Pressel Foundation.

“Being involved and giving back to the community has been an integral part of how I approach my work,” he says.
