For David Schloss, providing the highest level of home health care isn’t just a business – it’s personal.
The former financial advisor was a caregiver for his father who had Parkinson’s disease and dementia.
Through that experience, he developed a passion for ensuring the care, comfort and support of seniors throughout the community.
He now owns HomeWell of South Palm Beach, which improves the quality of life of seniors, their families and their caregivers.
“We take a holistic approach to at-home care that focuses on accomplishing the tasks of daily living and improving the overall well-being of each individual,” Schloss says. “We do our best to keep our clients as independent as possible, let them age with dignity and maintain the quality of life they desire.”
What sets HomeWell apart is that a dedicated care manager works closely with each client to find the perfect qualified caregiver to place in someone’s home or independent living facility. Schloss personally hand selects each caregiver.
“We send caregivers that we would send to our own mom and dad,” Schloss says. “It comes down to people who have their heart in the right place.”
He adds, “We are like a matchmaker getting the right personality with our clients – if someone likes their privacy, we won’t send someone who talks a lot. If someone is social, we won’t send an introvert.”
HomeWell provides excellent training and oversight and strives to be the preferred agency for loving caregivers.
“When we get good caregivers, we do whatever we can to keep them,” Schloss says.
Many caregivers become beloved companions, playing a round of cards with clients and assisting them with grocery shopping. Levels of service range from partial care to round-the-clock care.
