George Botelho, M.D., FAAOS, Focuses On Getting His Patients On The Road To Recovery

George Botelho, M.D., FAAOS, doesn’t recall a time when he didn’t want to be a doctor. In fact, he recalls receiving a doctor’s kit for Christmas when he was only 8 years old, which he would carry with him everywhere he went.

As a board certified orthopedic surgeon and fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Botelho treats all spinal and musculoskeletal injuries and diseases “from the chin to the toes.” He believes “orthopedic care is an art form” and thus maintains a small practice to ensure that all his patients get personalized treatment.

Dr. Botelho treats everything from minor sprains and broken bones to painful arthritis and joint replacements. He also specializes in major spine work including fusions and disc replacement.

Dr. Botelho’s passion lies in making the correct diagnosis and establishing a correct treatment plan for each individual patient. He truly is a hands-on doctor, reading patients’ MRIs and X-rays himself rather than relying on radiology reports to make the diagnosis. He prides himself on listening to his patients to determine what’s causing their health issue. His goal is to return his patients to an active and healthy lifestyle.

He understands how anxious patients can become when they are dealing with an illness. Patients can be assured that Dr. Botelho will provide them with clear and concise information about their condition as well as all treatment options. He wants his patients to leave his office comfortable and without any anxiety regarding their diagnosis and conditions.

Because orthopedics is a field of medicine that’s constantly changing, Dr. Botelho stays current with the most cutting-edge research and treatments, including cellular biologics, such as stem cell and platelet rich plasma therapy designed to enhance healing. He was an early pioneer of many treatments that today are considered the gold standard, and he continues to work in research that will be considered tomorrow’s gold standard.

Dr. Botelho prides himself in providing excellence in health care.
