Mendez works closely with Robert Downey, a registered patent attorney located in Boca Raton since 1993. Downey merged his practice with Malloy & Malloy several years ago. Together they oversee two associates and coordinate with the firm’s other offices to offer “full-service IP,” including patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret infringement and name-image-likeness cases in Federal courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Downey, who has 33 years of IP experience, especially enjoys working with independent inventors and small businesses. “I enjoy learning all aspects of a client’s business — as well as their competition — and obtaining the broadest and strongest protection,” Downey says. “One thing that separates Malloy & Malloy is that we’re not just dabbling in IP, we serve clients’ needs exclusively in IP.”
