Peter J. Lowe, M.D., is the only retinal specialist to offer a quick, painless procedure in his office for chronic vitreous floaters. He is also well known for his painless approach in treating retinal-vascular disease.
Dr. Lowe is a board certified ophthalmologist practicing in Delray Beach and Lake Worth. Since completing a Harvard University fellowship specializing in retinal, macular and vitreous disease, he has been a consulting physician in Palm Beach County for more than 25 years, treating many conditions that can damage or destroy a patient’s vision. He specializes primarily in diabetic eye disease and other complex disorders of the retina, macular and vitreous.
He is constantly exploring new ways to improve his patients’ vision. Six years ago, he pioneered the use of the Ellex Q-R laser to vaporize chronic floaters. In a quick and painless procedure, Dr. Lowe has achieved dramatic improvements in vision for hundreds of patients who previously were told they had to “live with them.” Using this FDA-approved laser, Dr. Lowe has helped patients see clearly again after developing chronic floaters that occurred “out of the blue” or after successful cataract surgery.
He is also one of the few retinal specialists in Florida using a pain-free technique for eye injections necessary in the treatment of the sight-threatening diseases affecting diabetics and patients with macular degeneration as well as retinal-vascular occlusions.

Dr. Lowe recently incorporated the Iridex Micro-pulse laser into his practice. This painless laser treatment has dramatically decreased the number of injections he would otherwise have to perform in the treatment of patients with retinal vascular disease.
