If you need neurosurgical care, the Morrison Clinic is a premier and accessible practice for your needs. They have seven locations throughout Florida from Stuart to Miami and in Manhattan, N.Y. The Morrison clinic offers concierge services and ambassadors to assist with travel. Additionally, they accept nearly every insurance plan which includes but is not limited to Aetna, Cigna, Humana, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, and workers compensation. They’re one of the only private practices who accept Medicaid.

John F. Morrison, M.D., FAANS, a general neurosurgeon, founded the Morrison Clinic. He treats young adults to elderly for many neurological conditions including but not limited to brain tumors, aneurysms, spine deformities, neck pain, back pain, trigeminal neuralgia, facial pain and peripheral nerve such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

He knows no two patients are exactly alike. “It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. I keep that in consideration and create a personalized plan for each patient,” he says. “Everyone responds differently to therapy, treatment and surgery.”

He educates patients thoroughly. “It’s a scary process. We break it down into components and pieces and talk at a level the patient can understand,” he says. “I give the patient information and make recommendations to help them reach the best decision for themself.”

As a fifth-generation doctor, he understands what it means to be a physician. “I love helping people and using our knowledge of science and technology to understand what problems are going on inside the body. I always liked biochemistry; the way the nervous system works is fascinating.” The field does have tough days. “We’re often involved in some of the toughest days of people’s lives. To be able to give comfort and care for people at that time is remarkable.”

Still, he is passionate about his career. “I love operating and surgery,” says Dr. Morrison. “I especially enjoy seeing patients after they’ve recovered from surgery, when they’ve overcome something that was really affecting their life. Surgery can be a life-changing event for the better.”

Dr. Morrison earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his medical degree at Creighton University. Dr. Morrison attended Brown University and the University of Buffalo Neurosurgery for residency and cerebrovascular neurosurgery training. The Wisconsin native resides with his family in West Palm Beach.
