Business and Government Attorneys

Weiss Serota Helfman Cole & Bierman (WSHC+B) is a mid-size law firm with a boutique feel and culture that positions itself at the crossroads of business, government and the law. Although the South Florida law firm has grown to more than 80 attorneys, the collegiality among its attorneys is rare.

“It’s one of the reasons we have been able to grow organically since our inception in 1991,” says Brett J. Schneider, managing director of the firm’s Boca Raton office and chair of the firm’s labor and employment department.

While many firms are shrinking their footprint, WSHC+B will move into a new 12,000-square-foot space at One Boca Place in early 2022. “We are very excited about our future and wanted to take on more space to accommodate the needs of our local clients,” says Schneider.

WSHC+B launched in Miami with a focus on representing local governments. Since then, the firm has expanded geographically and in practice areas. It added a Broward office in 1998 and one in Boca Raton in 2017. The Boca Raton office started with five home-grown attorneys and will have 17 when it moves into its new space.

“Boca Raton has gone through tremendous growth, and we wanted to be a part of that,” says Schneider.

The firm’s approach has enticed many well-respected attorneys to join the firm, including partners Howard DuBosar, who focuses on complex commercial litigation matters, Ron Nisonson, who focuses on construction litigation and David Tolces, who focuses on real estate and local government law.

“We are ecstatic we have added such fantastic lateral attorneys to our firm,” says Schneider.

Partners Marc Solomon, Anthony Soroka, Andrew Demers, Alen Hsu, Milton Collins and Matt Ramenda have also been a huge part of the office’s success. Solomon is a corporate attorney who has vast experience representing clients in buying and selling businesses; Soroka is the City Attorney for the Deerfield Beach and Parkland; Demers focuses on real estate and lending matters; Hsu and Ramenda specialize in complex commercial litigation; and Collins is a skilled labor and employment attorney.

Seasoned municipal lawyer Andrew Maurodis, commercial litigator Harrison DuBosar, municipal attorney Elen Gantner and construction litigator Ethan Goldstein round out WSHC+B’s Boca team.
