“It is an honor to be on the same page as these guys, who clearly represent some of our field’s most respected thought leaders,” says Dr. Nachlas, who, along with Dr. Aronsohn and Dr. Wirtschafter, serve in the group’s leadership. “It has been extremely rewarding to be part of a leadership team that continues to navigate these times of unprecedented challenges.”
Dr. Aronsohn is board certified in otolaryngology and serves as president and chief of staff at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, where he was influential in helping the hospital transition to new management following its merger with Baptist Health.
“Having grown up in Boca Raton and attended high school at Spanish River down the road from my office, I have a passion for caring for the community in which I was raised,” says Dr. Aronsohn.
In addition to providing local ear, nose and throat specialty care, he has traveled the world, providing medical treatment and surgery for those in underserved parts of the world like the Philippines and Haiti.
His colleague, Dr. Widick, is also board certified in otolaryngology, with fellowship training in advanced otological (ear) surgical procedures. His broad areas of expertise include correcting perforation of the eardrum, hearing loss, cochlear and implantable hearing aids, and voice disorders.
“Working with a group of highly respected colleagues benefits not only us but our patients,” he says. “We are able to consult with one another, providing our patients with the most comprehensive ENT care in the state.”
During the past several months, the physicians and staff at ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida have continued to see patients, developing and implementing the most stringent COVID-19 precautions anywhere – many of which have been adopted nationally by their peers.
“Maintaining pristine office environments includes not only screening of staff and patients, mandatory masks for staff and patients, social distancing and frequent hand washing, but also state-of-the-art air purification, rigorous decontamination procedures and aggressive COVID-19 testing protocols,” says Dr. Nachlas.
Dr. Wirtschafter, who is board certified in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine, is in his third year as chief of surgery at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He has played a critical role during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping manage the operating room during these unprecedented times. He also holds numerous leadership positions at the state and national levels, helping to develop medical policy.
“I feel deeply privileged to be able to care for multi-generational families, utilizing the latest advancements in the field. It is also a true pleasure to work every day alongside like-minded, compassionate and talented physicians,” he says.
Adds Dr. Nachlas, whose specialty is advanced and minimally invasive surgery of the nose and sinuses: “We are proud of our reputation of excellence, and we invite patients to experience our academic-level medical and surgical care in the convenience of a private practice setting.” His board certifications are in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery.
“One of the amazing things about ENTAAF is the scope of its subspecialists,” he says. “Our physicians are all board certified and many are double board certified. They have trained at the top programs in the country. Our allergy and audiovestibular departments are among the country’s best, not only clinically but also in the commitment to statewide and national education of our specialty.”
